Why?

Why, oh why do you try

When all you’ll do is fail

I know the truth behind your lies

I see right through your shield

You try to blind me

You try to hide

But I know the truth

I see the drunk days

I smell the smoke

I know it isn’t sage

I’m not five and I’m not two

I’m not your little girl

You cannot sway me from my belief

And my love for those who are true

Why, oh why do you try

When we both know you’ll lose

There is only one thing left for you to do

And that is give me up for good
