Why?

Today  I bought

a pretty dress.

Why did I  buy it?

Black cloth,

cascading ,

caressing my body.

Why is it pretty?

The shape fits me,

probably too expensive.

Who says it should be?

I felt beautiful,

a very rare thing.

Am I beautiful?

One wonders why

pulling on a certain

piece of clothing

changes a mind.

Why do we allow

fabric sewn together

to make us different?
