Why?
Why
should you try?
What's the point
of leaving behind the current joint?
Why put down the bottle of whisky,
when it's just too risky?
You're suffering from depression,
and you feel you can't take the oppression.
Why not give in?
Is it truly a sin?
If this really is an unstoppable trend,
then why not make this life end?
Why, oh why,
must you comply?
Why put up with the pain
when you feel there won't be any gain?
Allow me to speak,
on behalf of anyone past this peak.
You can't give up yet.
You're merely the butterfly caught in a net.
And as the butterfly escapes and flies away,
today will end, followed by a new day.
A new day, another chance.
New people, another dance.
People who want to help you
when you are once again blue.
You won't be this way for much longer.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
And stronger, you shall be,
when the day finally comes, and people will see
that you conquered tears and the dark,
and that you've left your mark.
But now, you must trust me.
I was once there, but now I'm free.
At the end of every tunnel, there is light,
and that is where you will win the fight.
Now, do me a favor: look me in the eye
and tell me you won't question why.
