This Is Why

I live with my enemy she revels in my sadness she smiles when I am in pain and cries when I am washed with relief I am what she wishes and I wish what she wants she is my demon, my unhappiness is her smile I feel when she wants my life the ones that love me feel her wrath as she tightens their throats with my words and wets their eyes with my hands I am caged in my own reflection unashamed she waves as if she is welcome I cringe from your hands because of the claws she hides with mine I cover my heart from you for the fear you will love her as well she has no mercy
