Why

WHY is she the one to lift me up,

when all I am is feeling down?

WHY is she the only one there,

when no one else is around?

WHY is she so supportive,

when she herself needs some in return?

WHY is she so focused on my well being,

WHY  is she so concerned?

WHY does she make me smile,

every time that we speak?

WHY is she the only one who makes things better,

when everything seems so bleak?

WHY am I going to miss her,

when we go our separate ways?

WHY can’t I take her with me,

WHY can’t this be a bad dream, shrouded in a dark haze?

Maybe because this is reality,

and being apart isn’t a thought,

So I ask myself, “Am I going to miss her?”

And my response is always “WHY not ?”
