Why

It's a question I ask myself time and time again

What am I doing. Why does it matter.

I need answers that I looked for in a very dear friend,

And found what I needed to understand.

Poetry became my escape.

It helps me to live day by day

To put into words what my life means

To explain to the world, without having to scream.

It is gentle in the way it flows,

The words glide and emotion is shown.

It has given me a reason why.

It has motivated me to try.

Poetry is my dear friend.

It has shown me a new side,

To a story that I never knew existed,

Until I asked the question, "Why?"
