Why
Her light was shadowed by the despair in her heart.
Her beautiful voice was broken and torn apart.
Her life, she considered, was not worth living.
Once every night, she sat in her bed crying.
She wished all the torturous moments of life could be skipped,
Or else, the job of life she would have to quit.
The thought of dying seemed peaceful and calming.
Though the pain of dying, to her, was daunting.
She considered a quick death, like by drowning or with a gun,
And she knew her reasons, all but one.
There was something keeping her from ending it all,
She wasn't sure if it was something big or something small.
But the ache in her heart needed to die down,
Or else she wouldn't be in the mindset to drown.
So she thought, and thought, and thought, and thought,
About the thing that kept her from ending it all.
The next time she saw him she realized that he
Was the reason that she,
Could not end her life.
He was the only source of happiness she had,
He helped her day in and day out, no questions asked.
But one day, one fateful day,
He came back home with a girl,
Which sent her mind back into a whorl.
All those thoughts of darkness and death,
Came back to her in one single moment,
And she sunk down into her own eternal hole,
Never to come out again.
