why

sometimes

  i ask myself

why

  why im not beautiful

like all of those other girls

why my joy was ripped out of my hands

as if mine was less

  why i'll never be loved

like you see in those fairy tails

why that smile on my face

always looks forced

why no matter how much sleep i get

i can never push the tiredness away

  why i feel so unadequate

like nothing i'll do will add up to anything

why everyone turns their back on me

as if i were nothing

the world is a cruel place

and i often find myself asking

why

aren't i dead ?
