Why

Why do we feel the need

To cause others to bleed

And off of sadness we feed

Because we are planting the seed

Of fear and despair

People place certain things above others 

Saying that they are more important

Over the eyes they pull the covers

And the severity suddenly feels shortened

Why

Why do people have to hush others

Trying to make this world better

We want to enact change

See the world rearrange

Because us down here in our age

We are stuck in a cage 

Of worry

That the next generation won’t see the world for how it used to be 

But how it is

Why

Why decide that other matters are more important

That people trying to make a life for themselves

Is more important than the environment

How our Earth is dying

Underfed babies are crying

People are cheating and lying

People scared decide that this is not worth it and go flying

Oh sorry

Is the fact that she follows a religion make you crave her death

Because she wants to love she should reach her last breath

Or that she wasn’t ready to be a mother

She should now be smothered

Because we don’t value her life anymore 

Why

Why do we treat others this way

Causing conflict 

When we should be coming together with no delay

To help others and give them no dismay

I’ll tell you what could come of this

And it ain’t pretty

Our original dream of bliss

Is now compromised of pointing fingers, but we are all guilty

Because we put more value on money than life

Soon we will lose our Earth in a one-sided fight

Because we stopped caring

Which causes the younger ones to see

That the ones in which told us the earth was for sharing

Are about as selfish as can be
