Why?

Did you notice that girl in math class, who sits behind you, the girl who is a math wizard?

The girl you called:

“Ugly”

“Fat”

“Rude”

“Social outcast”

Did you ever take the time to get to know her

Understand why she walks to class alone

Why she is so self-conscious

Why she rarely posts a picture of herself on Instagram

Did you know why she did it?

Why she lied away in the corner

Watched girls starve themselves

Do you understand why she didn’t tell sousie?

Tell Susie her boyfriend and best friend were dating.

Do you understand why she never told anyone her secrets

 She has no one

She walks to class alone because no one is there

She lies awake at night crying herself to sleep

Wondering why no one likes her

Why?

Why did you say those hurtful things to her

Why did you call her a slut

and label her skanky

When all she does is get good grades

tries her best not to let other

Get to her

Why say those rude, hurtful, and disgusting things about her

 She has done nothing

But sit in the corner and watch as her class dies out in society

Lately it's all about skinny waist

 Fat thighs

Have a big butt that bounces

Long natural hair

Having your eyebrows on fleek

Wearing the right colors and clothes together

Why?

Did you know that saying all those things about her…

Hurt her

Telling her she didn’t look like the model in the magazine

Did you ever wonder why she didn’t

She understood that society is not like it was back then

She knows that those girls wearing yoga pants and bralettes is not who she is

She stays true to herself

Do you know why she started to care

Why she started to drown in society

Why she started to starve herself

Was it you?

The person who told her she wasn’t good enough

The person who told her that she was too fat

That she would always be alone

That she would have no friends

Was it you who told her to never show her face

To get the plastic surgery

Who told her to just disappear

She still lies awake at night wondering why?

Why she isn’t good enough

Am I too fat

Do these make my butt look good

Is he cheating on me

Why is society making us like this?
