Why?

I feel as dry the concrete beneath my feet,

soul yearning for your voice,

but everytime i aproach you shush,

never letting me sleep,

on this endless journey,

I walk as if to stalk the one I love,

but she runs from me when I express it,

always told that can't was not in a man's dictionary,

but I can't live playing like this is some sort of pictionary,

a fairytale I wanted to have with you,

I would be romeo you would be juliet,

I would be Dr.King you would be Coretta,

I would be Obama you would be Michelle,

a match made in Heaven,

but everyone wants us to go to Hell,

luckily God has pulled us back up,

told us that our love had proven to be tough enough,

that he would open the gates and let us be free,

but stupidly we lost the key,

metaphorically we are Adam and Eve,

I tell you I wish this was a dream,

that I wasn't mean,

and that you would let your words intervene,

and stop this heart break I feel inside,

nothing but pain you will see when you look in my eyes,

but take a second look.....

because then you will see,

a relection of me and her,

smiling, laughing, living in love the way we used to be

I ask you why, oh why.....

did this distance have to be?

WHY? I ask sorroefully,

as a man humble as can be,

down on my knees,

as vunerable as smoked out bees,

I plead that I bleed,

giving a sacrifice to true love,

because I would give up anything next to my rightful place above,

just to get back our true love,

just to be what we used to be,.

And best believe I would die for you too,

but aint no sense in doing that because I would never be able to spend my life with you,

I want a change for us,

no lies but trust, no crying but laughter, a family and a happily ever after,

Why? Oh why.... I ask

WHY?

WHY did this distance have to come........?
