Why Do I Wait
My time’s too short
My dreams fly by
My body’s a fort
I sit in and die
I lay here in shame
Watching day after day
As time, my life, slowly drifts away
Why do I wait?
Why must I stay confined inside and die
It’s like I don’t even try
To live, rewrite, revitalize my breaking life
It’s pathetic
How easily I give up when the going gets tough
Why do I wait?
Why do I sleep?
Burying my feelings deep inside
Letting them starve
Letting them die
Watching them fall
And wither at my feet
Why do I wait?
Why did I give up the fight?
My right to life
Why do I sit back and go numb?
Somewhere I must have decided “I’m done”
I decided to wait
Not today
I’m done again
It’s time to change
I’m done being the same
I’m done wasting away
Why did I wait?
