Why do I write?

Why do I write?
This is something that other students ask quite often.
They don't understand how words can be spectacularly strong.
They don't see how one can do something considered mundane.

Why do I write?
This is an easy question to answer.
Words are an expression.
They set me free from my stressfull life.

Why do I write?
This is such a humourous startement.
Why wouldn't you write?
Why would you not let your mind wander across paper with ink and heart?

Why do I write?
This is something I am thinking about for this poem.
I do it because I can keep my thoughts between me and my paper.
The world will never have to see my innermost thoughts

Why do I write?
This is obvious.
Because I can express myself better through writing than speaking.
Because I can be myself through words.
Because I never have to lie to the paper.
Because it is my release.
Because I simply love it.
