Why do you write?
"Why do you write?" they ask me as I scribble away in my note pad.
"Why do you write?" the loud kid asks as I pour my thoughts out drowning the paper
infront of me but never saying a word.
"Why do you write?" my younger brother asks as I try to recreate the innocence I
see in his big wide eyes onto these big lines.
"Why do you still write?" whispers the dawn calling me to sleep as I try to write
down my dreams to the exact detail.
"Why do you still write?" whispers the fading light but I still cannot stop for my
heart demands to be heard!
"Why do you write?" they all ask me, but I never reply for I know that they cannot
understand just how writing frees my thoughts, allows me to create the emotions I
long to feel once again. How it allows me to recreate details & stroies that
wouldve previously been lost. Or how it gives my heart a voice.
"Why do I write?" So I maybe free to be me.
