Why does she

Why does the caged bird sing? She is trapped into a cage where she can see the open views but cannot leave. She sees her sisters and brother s flying, soaring in the wind But all she can do is watch. She sees how the burst of freedom gleam off the face of the other birds as her wing wilt and linger because of the nonuse.

She begins to image false hopes to ease her pain. Words like “It is safe and sound in here” “I know that in the long stretch that this cage that I am living in will hold much better than what the other birds live in”. But oh does she know that deep within her heart, her soul is fluttering away just as each new bird that comes by her cage and whisper at her. “Oh how could you be in such a place” “You will never go anywhere in that cage”.

She gives a chirp before she goes off and fly but yet again does the caged hold her within. She knows again that is her place and that she will be there forever. She played out her empty life as it came

The cage finally opened.
