Why Does Writing Chose Me?

Why do I write? Well, it seems the question is in the wrong order.

Instead, why does writing chose me? To me, writing comes to me.

Creativity is like this invisible force, around me everywhere, seemlessly out of reach. This omnipotent cloud will ocaisionaly strike me, and then the writing begins.

Even when I was younger, writing was not as interesting to me as science and math. Writing was a task, an assignment for a teacher. However, for the past couple years writing has been another outlet for me. It seems that writing has chosen me.

Not that I don't enjoy it.

Indeed, a long narrative of my life, and other hypothetical situations, has always existed in my head. Almost as if John Green or Ira Glass is trapped in there, observing my life and transcoding it with their superb anologies, maybe just to pass the time.

Why does writing chose me? It seems like a great question to write about? Why do i write? Well...

Writing will come to me, and if I don't express my thoughts or feelings on paper or on a computer screen, I'm afraid that these fragile thoughts will be lost, forgotten.

This is why I write. I feel that inside of my concsous, I have something that I enjoy. I write to preserve those moments, those bursts of creativity (or borderline insanity.) A moment such as now.

People don't have to like what I write, because I already like my own. Just like how some people chose different genres of music over others, I write because it expresses me and my thoughts in a concrete and physical way.

Abstract ideas are temporary, but paper can be forever.
