Why falling in love is a death sentence

Love is a topic that is well and widely known. For some people, it’s just a minor concept, for others its just utter bullshit, for me, it’s a lifestyle. I say I love you more than Zimmerman plead not guilty, I say I love you more than people watched ray-j’s sex tape. But I never really meant it when I said it, I only thought I did. I was in love with the idea of love…that was, until I actually fell in love. If I ever had the chance to do it again….fuck no I wouldn’t do that shit! Falling in love is like getting hit in the heart with a bunch of bricks because cupid is a dick and I’m apparently his bitch….that’s on one hand….on the other hand falling in love is like looking at the sunset for the first time. It’s so beautiful you don’t want the moment to end. But as soon as it begins you just want it to end because falling in love isn’t a fresh breath of a new life, it’s a rude awakening. And when you wake up you are hit with the reality that you have feelings that you aren’t sure what they are your so confused. Falling in love is like trying to diffuse a bomb and you try to pick the right wire before all of your feelings explode in your face! You wait, wait for time to slow down until everything is rendered catatonic and you see the girl you have so helplessly fell in love with, and it’s like seeing a sunset for the first time. You don’t want your time together to end and the butterflies that you get in your tummy every time you see her smile, you want to take a picture so that moment will last just a while longer. But time starts to move again ant those butterflies shape-shift into a fucking dragon. A dragon of pain and heartbreak and it breathes its fire, you feel it spreading in your body turning your bones to ashes and you just want time to go back to standing still so this death sentence will be over and you can go back to the time when you were just in love with the idea of being in love and you didn’t know what feelings were, and you never experienced heartbreak when her lips that you’ve wanted to kiss but you were too scared you would miss, part to utter the words you never wanted to hear. Time stands still, but this time it isn’t like looking at a sunset for the first time, it’s like being at a funeral. You just sit staring into space hoping to escape this agonizing moment, you’re stuck. All because cupid was being a dick. Falling in love is a death sentence….especially when the one you are in love with…doesn’t love you back.
