Why Fight?

Months.

For months we have fought across

These blood-soaked beaches

Waiting for the victory

As we battle

Inch-by-agonizing

Inch.

Enemy.

They stop us at our every turn

Determined to punish what

They will not defeat.

In my dreams I see their Faces.

Home.

The crisp sound the word makes

Rolling off the tongue.

It focuses my head.

Reminds me of The reason I

Fight.
