Why the Hate?

Why the hate for the freshman girl,

the new one with glasses and frizzy curls?

They ignore her bright and cheery smile

to point out her so-outdated style

They laugh, the sneer, say she'll never be loved

and leave her picked on, pushed, and shoved

Why the hate for the brilliant child

who may have a social disorder filed?

His speedy mind no doubt recieves an A

but kids call him a brain freak and stay away

He locks himself in his room, solving limiits and equations

Since he's scared to form any personal relations

Why the hate for the chubby guy

who keeps in the pantry, the only place he can hide?

His parents are fighting and tearing apart the house

so he eats to feel safe, alone, and quiet as a mouse

He knows its a problem, but he just cannot stop

and the kids on the playground call him the human mop

Why the hate for these young ones,

since wrong they have done none?

Those innocent eyes,

forced to soak up pure lies

Maybe a friend

is all it takes for an end...

Why the hate?
