Why I Am Awake

The darkness around can't get any darker

and the sound of my thoughts can't get any louder

while the world speeds up and my mind slows down

day is gone and night arises

but my mind, my thoughts won't go to sleep

to ask myself questions no one else would understand

to sing a song and dance and laugh

that is what night is like for me

bustling around as if the sun is still high in the sky, sometimes it won't shut up

i don't know why.
