Why I carry a knife

Why I carry I knife

Before I start I should warn you as to what you are about to hear

You are about to hear what happens when a black man’s thoughts fall on deaf ears

They ask me why I carry a knife on the street

I simply reply, because I know what happens at night on the street

And I am not trying to get killed by some of these dudes that spend their life on the street

So sue me for being suspicious

I just grew up in a world where cats and dogs are nothing but vicious

Intent is seditious, crimes are malicious

I know savages that find the taste of blood delightful and delicious

So, I carry a knife to avoid getting mobbed

But even if I make it passed the street I have to get to the job

And even at the job I have a fear of getting robbed

Getting robbed to the people who make tax

That don’t even ask for it, these people take tax

They put it at the top of your check so it appears subliminal

You want to take money from me without asking but call the dudes on the streets criminal

Please, I realized the government is a ghastly wind that will break through any breeze

The government is a massive ship that will cut though any seas

The government will make the most honest men breakdown by the worst of deeds

The government will make lilies fester far worse than weeds

Why conspirators study why 33 is the worst degrees

They think I’m bad, well the government is worse than me

They’ll do everything they can to make you throw your life away

Look at me, I’m at the job and I’ve almost got robbed twice today

But never let them get you down, because I refuse to be beat

So to answer your question, that why I carry a knife on the street
