"Why I Love My Grandpa"

Dear future kids,

His hands were dry and cracked,

And his eyes were somewhat dim,

But these did not change the fact

Our family came from him.

My grandpa raised his famliy,

As did my father his own.

My grandpa planted the tree,

And since that time, it's grown.

My grandpa's heart to me

Was balanced with strength and love.

His endurance was daily,

And his ethics were tough.

My grandpa was humble,

And was caring all the time.

He never liked to grumble

Even through mountains he'd climbed.

My grandpa was funny.

He was always telling jokes.

He loved to play games with me,

And tried to cheat his turns.

My grandpa loved his God,

And read his Bible nonstop.

Even when times came to sob,

He trusted the Lord to help.

I loved my grandpa,

Always-- to the very end.

I tell you kids that's what I saw

In his heart a true friend.
