Why I Strive
I strive because I write.
I strive because I don't run.
I strive because I'm different.
I strive because I'm someone.
It's not a competition,
And if it is, it's against me.
I look into the mirror,
And I know it's not what I want to see.
I shout out,
but no one can hear.
I whisper,
but the whole world has all ears.
Why is it I strive?
Why can't I just run?
It's because I am different.
It's because I am someone.
