Why I Write
Tonight it happened. Though only for a moment.
I saw the hope of moving on.
I looked into another's eyes, listened to another's voice
Barely met. Yet in those few moments I knew there was hope.
That was until the thought of you crept in.
Tonight I wanted for the hundredth time to forget. Let go.
Then I realized. You inspire me to write.
Writing this I want to bury myself underneath gravel
that will never be dug up. But before that please
put me in a concrete block.
It's simple really. Poetry means everything to me
and I was revealed to it the moment I began to feel.
