Why I Write

Writing to some is a horrible mess With words and actions that mean only stress But to me these words breathe a spirit of life As powerful as life saving care or the tip of a knife Words build up and words break down All through the placement of one's mental sound The power of my words ring out with pride With the power of the ocean's relentless tide Writing is my prowess, my passion, my right The pride of my poetry is the reason I write
