Why I Write
I write to feel
My words create worlds that I could only dream were real
No matter how many books I write
Poetry was always my guiding light
Carrying me through the darkest hours
Lighting the torches when I was trapped in my towers
We would walk, my words and I, though the halls
Reminiscing on a past where we didn’t matter at all
And when we reached the final locked door, the writing was my key
For it opened the door, and finally set me free
