Why I Write
I write because the only letters written by them
written on my own skin
Every scar a lesson I taught myself
not wanting to depend upon anything else
My spoken words never coming out as I thought
No substance just shame and doubt
thats not how I meant them
I wanted every word to be different
to be filled with adventure
I wanted to make you feel
to bring goosebumps to your skin
tears to your eyes
feeling to your heart
an excitement that caused your head to spin
I wanted to feel those things with you
I write to help us escape
Give us a key to the state of mind we have locked ourselves in
to bring the sun to our cold skin
to make us live
to make us believe
