Why I Write

I write because it gives me joy like Christmas getting a new toy. Finding my pain and expressing it through my hands Wondering why God gave me these plans Writing helps me to understand Life’s unexpected rules at hand Change is what is here now It was chasing me, caught up to me somehow All I can feel is growing pains Living my life without chains Free from the old me I can’t help but believe Next step is the real world The next chapter I will be hurled Into the unknown Where I will become fully grown
