why I write
I write to expose the colors
that bleed from words of truth
to try to hold to something real
and give measurement to proof
If not for the words written on the page
of fibrous stuff and ink
my soul begins to fade away
I feel my presence shrink
I write to make my notions real
to expose the images I hold
of reality's existence through color:
stripes of teal, strokes of gold
