This is why I write
Why I write, started long ago
A warm home but on the inside I was cold
With a mind full of discouragement,
Poetry became my encouragement
Emotions oozing down thru my ink
Flowing down as if I did not even think
Being bullied as an occupation
Depression to compensate my desperation
To conquer the beasts before me,
I wrote and my love grew for poetry
The numbness to it all
My picker upper when I fall
My loudest cries were through my art
That removed the pain puncturing my heart
The way I learned to fight,
This is why I write
