Why I Write
It's like a sickness- a disease
that I've suffered with from birth.
I have to let the words come forth
or my mind may cease it's function.
Words jumbled within my head
torrents of syllables and unadulturated sound
stumble forth and combine to form
a mess of letters on a page.
It's messy 'til it's perfect
then it's messy once again.
Always tweaking, always changing
in the hope of conveying me-
the inner me-
my thoughts, my hopes, my dreams,
my passions, and my faults
all formed to writtten word.
Because without the written language
my thoughts would all be lost
lying dormant in the dark, yet
roaming wild inside my mind.
