Why I Write

My mind flows

I’m drowning

I reach for a hand

But no one’s there

I need to let go

The words take shape

My fingers hit the keys

The words flow

Until I realize

I can breathe

My mind blank

I am at peace

The words are me

They take the part

That I don’t need

That hurts me

That torments me

They are my relief
