This is Why I Write

Writing poetry is my way to express my emotions

It’s not just rhyming words line after line

But the meaning of those words I write down.

I write to express the feelings of which I cannot speak

I write to take the weight off my shoulders and give myself a break --

A break from the emotions that overcome me.

I write to relieve the anger, relieve the stress, and to quiet the madness,

The madness which is the human mind.
