Why I Write

Why do I write poetry,

this is a common question I have been asked before.

Perhaps I write out of boredom,

or to express the feelings at my core.

I write my poems based on different things,

I like to express my thoughts.

I write when I feel down or weak,

I know when I write I am calling the shots.

I write to show others how I think,

I just want them to understand.

I write to help others out,

I want them to know I'll always lend a hand.

I write to make others happy,

I wish to make the world a better place.

I write to take fears away,

I wish I could wipe the tears off of your face.

I write to make myself a better person,

I would want to be proud of me.

I write to remember all these memories,

I will write to be the best I can be.
