Why I Write
Depression,
A darkness now fading,
But still lingering, always lingering
Within the shadows
That I hide.
Purpose
A reason to fight,
To pull through the days
And seek the light I'm starved for,
But still, once tasted, darkness still calls.
I cannot lose this new feeling,
I cannot fall back into the depths of despair
Release my soul, my burdens
Speak out,
But tell not my dark secrets.
Expression,
An elegant dance
Of words across the white pages
To acknowledge and defy
That which I have come to fear.
Through words
The unconquerable is now defeatable
And I can be free
To live, love, laugh
For happiness is no longer unattainable.
