Why I Write

If you were to ask me Why I write, I would reply, Why does an artist paint? Why does a thespian perform? Why does a filmmaker create? To portray an image against the norm? Why does a dancer move? Why does a lyricist rhyme? Why does a debater prove? Is it about more than making a dime? We all want to feel, release, experience An emotion that has long since been blocked. Passion, love, anger, and pain Inspired by controversy and truth. We stand together and bleed our art For it is a gift from deep inside the heart.
