Why I write

I sat in a sea sadness

One that drove me to utter madness

But my friend my lover

The only being meant to discover

You were the words I thought couldn’t find

You were more than just thoughts of my mind

You made me understand

You to me were paradise on dry land

You put the blood in my veins

You soothed my hellish pains

It was you who made me feel alive

Like I was destined to survive

You showed me what it meant to live

And of yourself you give

Mirror to my soul

You were what made me feel whole

Fire of my heart

Pain I will depart
