Why I Write

Location

There's a certain profound beauty

In watching words string together

In such elegance to eventually

Form such a sweet everything.

To find that I too could be the

Stringer of these words

Such as others have strung, have comforted,

Was a blessing of immense mercy.

I then understood the truth in saying that God

Reveals Himself in unexpected and subtle ways.

Suffocated by a murky despair,

I desperately hurled myself

And sunk gratefully into the

Comfort of books and pages and stories.

Awed by their bold grace,

The mercy and peace of God shone

Through the spaces between the letters.

Chapters and words and pages lifted me

And guided me by the hand through lands,

Through parallel worlds,

Through Heaven,

Through mountains,

To the edges of cliffs,

To eventually lead me to my own pen,

My own pages,

My own words.

In my words I am comforted,

Relieved, unburdened.

I am joyful,

And I am brought to life.
