Why I Write
Poetry allows me to have a voice, when I am too afraid to speak.
I cannot say what is on my mind, my verbal skills are weak.
When I write I have no fears.
I don't fear judgement from my peers.
I can show the world I have a mind that differs from the crowd.
In poetry, my mind is art, and my masterpieces make me proud.
A poem can show an emotion, describe a feeling, tell a story,
I write because, through poetry, I can show the world who I can be.
I may not be a leader,
or a public speaker,
but I can still be heard,
through each and every word.
I write.
