Why I Write

Poems provide for an excellent release, For the emotion and passion one instills crafts a unique piece, Promise that they will never cease, Filled with the story of one, Whether the sun rises, a flower blooms, or a project left undone, Poetry gifts the masses with tales for much more than fun, The insight into another's life, his struggles, her joy, or their sorrow, Promise they continue into tomorrow, I toss my name into the ring, For it is fun, it is insightful, as well as soothing, I yearn for a day when the tales I provide may ingratiate themselves among the respectable, Until then, the pen rests in my hand as I write on the coffee table.
