Why I write

When the world gets too much to bear
And thoughts cloud my vision
I write

When my voice is not heard
By intention or neglect
I cry out on paper
And watch as words absorb tears

As existential pain resides
I feel a little better
With each curved line

My words do not transcend oceans
But they embrace and lift me
So that I may stay afloat
