Why I Write

An escape, An adventure, Going beyond limits, Pushing boundaries, Finding something Where you thought there was nothing, Discovering yourself In places you never imagined you’d reach. Mountains of thoughts Rise, Streams of words Flow, Birds fly off the page, The products of your dreams, Carrying impact. It’s unexplainable, The way ink and soul become one, And you’re locked in, Like quicksand, Until suddenly, The sun sets on your lyrical paradise. You’ve put every piece of yourself into those lines, And now you get to sit back and enjoy The beautiful array of colors. It’s inspiring. It’s Poetry.
