Why I Write
I write to escape
The pressures of the world are too great
I write to share
But hide
I write to relate
But be different
I write to help
But who am I helping
I write through the pain
But it doesn't help
I write at my worst
So the knife goes on the paper not my arm
My writing isn't good
Its raw and heartaching
My grammar isn't well
But as long as I understand they don't have to
With Olivia Rodrigo playing in the background
I wonder if they can tell from the words on the page
My writing doesn't have to rhyme
But it makes them ask me if I’m fine
I wonder if one day I will look back
And see a girl broken but one day redeemed
I wonder if the lord can see them
If he did what would he think
I write near midnight
Its better for not thinking about it
Why do I write
Because I can't cry
