Why I Write

Times that have gotten tough, Needing a new way to express thoughts, And feelings. This is only the beginning. Grandma fighting cancer during the summer. Watched her suffer until the end, And then lost my one best friend. Now I lost my voice for words. Moments when I can't speak up, When all that comes out are tears, Written words pull me out, Allowing the feelings to flow. Trying hard not to keep things inside, But finding it too hard when there's no trust. Trusting only a few, It still is too hard to find the right words. Days when all that's done is, Putting you down and no one's around, A pencil and paper are all that is needed. Finding the language needed to say it all right. Writing is a passion for some, While for others it is a way out. Like myself it helps keep us, From loosing ourselves in the mess of life. Words flowing out of the pen so easily, Helping to keep everything calm. A way to relieve without hurting, Anyone else. Writing is a way to live, And keep living. Helping those struggling to hold on, Have some grip and hope left.
