Why I Write?

Why I write?

I was taught ABC’s.

I was taught how to read.

I was taught how to write.

I was taught to write in stanzas and rhyming words.

They were called poems.

Deep tones and dictions were used.

It’s on paper but you can feel them.

They all make sense when you express.

I write when I’m bored.

My precious time that I’m sparing,

My precious brain cells that I’m using,

They all came out as one precious poem.

I write when I feel lonely.

I travel places in my fiction,

Comfortably, I write with no restriction.

The impossible becomes possible.

I write when I’m sad.

Because my words won’t judge me.

My words won’t hurt me.

They will encourage me in every way.

I write when I face obstacles.

Because it’s cheaper than therapy.

Makes me think it’s just a bad dream.

To embolden me through the storm.

I write and write and write.

Why I write?

To comfort myself?

To not give up?

Absolutely, to create my own art.
