Why I Write

Poetry keeps me honest,

Reading keeps me informed,

So when there’s sun shining I’ll have an umbrella to prepare for the storm.

Poetry keeps me honest,

Reading helps me succeed,

I don’t need to lose the jeans off of women for happy needs.

I search in my genes and find a leader within

I look deeper and I see my future behind a cape.

And since I’m the 1 that Rose to the occasion on continuing my family’s legacy,

I feel compelled to charge after it, just label me a Chicago Bull.

Reading opens my mind to things I never thought of before,

So when I see my glass at the halfway point, to me it’s half full.

I mean, I write because I’m informed,

I write because I’m succeeding,

I write because I think of things I couldn’t previously believe in.

Someone contact Ripley and let him know president should be mentioned,

Athletics and entertainment aren’t the only positions.

There’s so much more if you just look for another door,

The key for me is writing for it unlocks an endless amount of imaginations leaving me dreaming more.

Poetry keeps me honest.
