Why I Write
I write when my ideas cannot be drawn
But steadily claw at the right side of my brain.
When my creativity tells me
That it can no longer the take the dull pain
Of boredom that this small town gives out in daily doses
Time and time again just to remind you
That here there isn’t much for its residents to do.
I write when my feelings are too jumbled up
To try and actively explain to someone else.
When I cannot portray something I thought important
With my light and quiet voice by choice.
I write to escape the real world too
When things begin to feel a bit overwhelming to me
And dark thoughts flow through my head
Like a sea, a tidal wave of sadness
I use writing to reign in the madness.
