Why I write

You ask why we write. What’s it’s meaning? Our purpose?

Yet no one asks why musicians compose music. It is natural for us to write, like breathing.  As natural as it is for a bird to sing a song. Writing opens a portal to the soul no other can see. It expresses thoughts that man have trouble speaking aloud. I write because there are others out there, I know there are, others like me with wandering thoughts and sometimes troubled minds. There are others out there with hearts and souls as large as this world and they want a connection. I write to feel and unite with the other writers, who in turn, write back. Isolation becomes a thing of the past, emotions become free, anger is lost, because writing releases endorphins one can’t begin to comprehend. It’s more than ink on a paper. It’s much larger than words creating a verse. It’s further than grandiose words put together to impress another. Writing is freedom, a utopia. Who overlooks a free trip to paradise? Especially when it’s  in your mind.
