This Is Why I Write
I write to ease my mind,
To forget the pain of life and time,
To express my deepest thoughts and fears,
To reminisce about the past and wipe my tears,
To hold on to dreams and still have hope,
Even when everything about life seems so wrong,
I write a poem or just a song,
To inspire the artist deep inside,
Who is to afraid to admit she writes,
These are my hopes and childhood dreams,
My reason to dance or even sing,
These words I write I hold so close,
In my heart is where they grow,
They are the seeds I want to sow,
In this world full of pain and fear,
I hope these words will last for years.
