Why I Write

I see, I hear, I touch, I smell, I taste

My senses

My senses are bringing in too much information

Thoughts are forming

Swirling around in my head

Feelings are developing

Pressure is building

On the verge of exploding

Must organize thoughts

Must organize feelings

Must make sense of the world around me

Find letters, find words

Turn thoughts and feelings into words

Put words together

Make fragments

Put fragments together

Take fragments apart

Rearrange fragments

Capitalize first letter, put period at the end

A sentence.

Make more sentences

Put sentences together

Rearrange sentences

Cross a sentence out

Put a new sentence in

Indent first sentence

A paragraph.

Make more paragraphs

Or instead of indenting just skip a line

Now it's a stanza

Now it's poetry.

Keep finding letters

Keep finding words

Keep making fragments

Keep making sentences

Keep making paragraphs

Keep making stanzas

Keep writing

Keep writing

Keep writing

Finished.

Now my mind is at ease.
